Our ambition is to help you discover the temples of the ANGKOR area through a historical and descriptive approach. This will include large and deep information about the religious culture, at the same time buddhist and hinduist, and the architectural genius of the men who built them.

The site of ANGKOR is quite near the town of SIEM REAP, where you will stay during your visit of the area. Siem Reap is located at 314 km in the North-West of PHNOM PENH, the capital of CAMBODIA.

It is a zone of plains with small hills, in the North-East of the TONLE SAP Large Lake which is the regulating tank of the MEKONG River. The population is mainly agricultural and the lake is bordered by the floating villages and the on-pole houses of the fishermen.

The temples you will visit, among the 300 of them still standing in the Siem Reap Province, were built between the 9th and 13th centuries of our era, from the beginning of the Khmer Empire, in 802, until the prevalence of ANGKOR THOM, as capital of the country.

Our offer mainly relates to the visit of the ANGKOR sites, for three, four or five days, during which one full day is dedicated to the approach of the current everyday life, on the TONLE SAP Large Lake, in the surrounding countryside and in the town of SIEM REAP.

A new six days stay will give to you the opportunity to discover remote and few visited temples. You will thus be closer to the nature and the villages' life.

In order to improve your knowledge of Cambodia, MERU TOUR also proposes different extensions which will enable you to visit the capital, PHNOM PENH, and to discover the other most interesting and exotic areas of the country.

We thus designed two tours to discover the other Provinces of Cambodia:

- A North-to-South trip, with a stop-over in PHNOM PENH, will lead you to the many still ignored points of interest of the area which borders the Gulf of Thailand: KEP, KAMPOT and SIHANOUKVILLE. By alternating the visits of old sites, the rest on the white sand beaches with turquoise water and the approach of the everyday life in the countryside, you will enjoy the most exotic part of the Country. 

- A trip all around the Large Tonlé Sap Lake, will also lead you to PHNOM PENH and the Southern coast, but will give you the unique opportunity to travel through the areas of the West, still little visited by the tourists. Along the CARDAMONES mountains, OUDONG, the former capital in the 19th century, the harbor of KAMPONG CHNANG and the economic main town of the North-West, BATTAMBANG, present also temples and pagodas of various times.
